Reporting its best sales growth in almost a decade, Morrisons said a 6.3% like-for-like rise in sales in the second quarter to Aug. 5.
Morrisons reported that Group like-for-like (LFL) sales, excluding fuel, for the quarter to May 6 were up 3.6%, comprising contributions from retail of 1.8% and wholesale of 1.8%.
Morrisons announced plans to cut 1,500 store management roles and create 1,700 more junior jobs.
